Bristol YouthWorks will serve 113 youth. All youth will meet income eligibility requirements as specified in the application package with 90% having demonstrated at least one risk factor. Approximately 73 youth from Fall River, 30 from Taunton and 10 from non-targeted communities, specifically the city of Attleboro, will be served by the program. In Bristol, a minimum of 23 youth will be recruited for the vulnerable youth component of the program. Priority will be given to older, out-of-school youth, between the ages of 17-21, who demonstrate a lack of connection to the community, are unemployed and/or have not yet graduated from high school or obtained a GED. Our goal will be to reengage youth who are disconnected by placing them in an independent work experience at a community organization or a private sector company where they can strengthen their connection to the city in which they reside.
